Keeping a balance between staying at an ideal weight and living a well-rounded life
is something that plenty of people struggle with. Shedding those pounds can be
tough enough but the real challenge lies in maintaining that weight loss. Katie
Thompson-Mayes, the founder of Lifefire Weight & Wellness understands firsthand the hardships involved in the weight loss journey. The primary aim of Lifefire Weight & Wellness is to assist individuals not just in losing weight but in sustaining their progress while promoting overall physical and mental health.
Katie Thompson-Mayes had been a Registered Nurse (now a Nurse Practitioner) for
years, living a healthy lifestyle. After the birth of her second child, she struggled to
find time to focus on her own health and well-being due to a busy schedule. She
found herself 70 pounds heavier than before with many new health issues, including
prediabetes and high cholesterol. Her old clothes did not fit and she no longer felt
like herself.
Katie knew it was time to make a change, so she made the decision to fight back
against her declining health and succeeded. She lost over 70 pounds and has now
kept the weight off for more than four years. During her time losing weight, she
shared her inspirational weight-loss journey on social media, which drew the
attention of large audiences. As Katie says, “During my weight loss journey, I
developed a large following on social media and started to get tons of requests
asking me for weight loss advice. These requests are what inspired me to start a
weight management clinic.”
To further her mission, Katie recently partnered with Just Get Known, a marketing company that has been instrumental in refining Lifefire Weight & Wellness & branding and outreach. This newest collaboration is poised to elevate the clinic’s presence and effectiveness, reaching even more individuals seeking sustainable health solutions.
The goal of Lifefire Weight & Wellness clinics is to help you implement a weight-loss system that is sustainable and improves the overall quality of your life. “The program at Lifefire Weight & Wellness is unique because it isn’t just about achieving results. It is about MAINTAINING those results. We want to help you overcome the cycle of yo-yo dieting and keep the weight off. Everything about our program is designed to help you succeed in the long term.”
In addition to standard weight loss programs, Lifefire also offers IV therapy, Men’s
Health and other wellness services. With one highly successful clinic in Havertown,
Pennsylvania, Katie is overseeing the company’s expansion to a new clinic in
Wilmington, Delaware, which will open its doors this coming August, bringing her
specialized brand of health and wellness to even more people in need.
Lifefire is more than a typical health clinic or weight-loss program. Driven by Katie
Thompson-Mayes and her decade-plus of experience as a professional healthcare
worker, Lifefire Weight & Wellness looks to improve people’s health on a
fundamental level. As Katie says, “We aspire to be more than just a place for weight
loss; we want to be a catalyst for positive change, empowering our clients to lead
healthier, happier lives, regardless of their starting point.”
