Creamy Pear Cheddar Bake

Crust:

1 cup flour

1 Tbsp. sugar

dash salt

4 Tbsps. margarine

1 slightly beaten egg yolk

1 Tbsp. water

 

Mix flour, sugar & salt. Cut in margarine until it crumbs. Combine egg yolk with water, blend into crumb mixture.

Press on bottom and 2/3 up sides of 8x8x2 inch baking dish.

 

Ingredients:

1 29 oz. can pear halves, drained (or sliced pears)

1/3 cup sugar

1 tsp. lemon juice

1/4 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. nutmeg

1/2 cup whipped topping

5 oz. cream cheese

1/2 cup sugar

2 slightly beaten eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

 

Directions:

Slice pear halves, combine with 1/3 cup sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon & nutmeg. Turn into prepared crust. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, gradually stir whipped topping into cream cheese. Combine with the 1/2 cup sugar, eggs and vanilla. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over pears that have come out of oven. Then pour cream cheese mixture over all and bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
