Smoky Peas and Potatoes

Ingredients:

1 1/2 lbs. small potatoes

1 1/2 lbs. fresh peas

2 Tbsps. margarine

2 Tbsps. flour

1 2/3 cups milk

6 oz. roll processed smoked cheese

4 slices bacon, cooked & crumbled

 

Directions:

Peel & cook potatoes in boiling, salted water just until done. Drain. Meanwhile, cook peas in small amount of boiling water until tender, drain thoroughly. In small saucepan, melt margarine & stir in flour. Add milk all at once. Cook and stir until mixture is thick and bubbly. Cut cheese into small pieces & add to sauce. Stir over low heat 

until the cheese melts. Add half of the bacon. Combine hot potatoes and peas 

in serving dish. Pour on cheese sauce. Sprinkle with remaining bacon.

Serve immediately.
