Structural Steel Detailer

First State Fabrication is looking
for an in-house CAD drafter.
Candidate should be able to
produce structural & misc. shop
drawings, anchor bolt plans &
details, erection drawings &
details, per AISC, AWS, ASTM
building codes, ADA standards,
contract drawings, specifications
& contract. Misc. steel detailing
such as stairs, ladder & railings.
Incorporate design changes as
per returned approval drawings
or revised contract documents.
Communicate with design team
as needed via email, phone or
jobsite meeting. Ability to
manage several projects at the
same time. Ensure detailing
schedules are met & report
anticipated delays. Report &
share information with other
management level team
members. Notify project
management of specific design
changes providing a detailed list
of steel member changes. De-
sired skills & exp. are as follows:
Knowledge of basic principles of
structural steel detailing,
understanding of steel
purchasing, fabrication &
erection procedures. Ability to
read architectural & structural
drawings. Comprehension of &
ability to read blueprints,
welding symbols, etc.
Competent use of AutoCAD &
microsoft office software. Exp.
with model based design &
building information modeling.
Highly organized & committed to
producing accurate & complete
work. Good communication
skills. Minimum of 2-3 years of
detailing exp. Shop &/or field
