APPLICATION AND TESTING
Applications for apprenticeship will be accepted for the following trades: Carpenter, Mill/Cabinetmaker, Millwright, Wharf & Dock Builder, Resilient Floor Layer, Lather and Drapery Worker.
Applicants must apply in person on one of the following dates: Apr. 8 - Apr. 25, Mon.-Thurs. from 9am-3pm only. The test day is Tues., May 7. The test time will be given when you apply. The address is The Carpenters Union Training Center, 21420 Vaughn Rd., Georgetown, DE 19947.
A $35 non-refundable admin. processing fee is payable w/the application. Money orders only payable to Carpenters JAC. Cash or personal checks will not be accepted. Applicants must be at least 17 yrs. of age and have a HS diploma or equiv. (except 2019 graduates). Photo ID is required when applying and when reporting for the qualifying test. A driver's lic. or school I.D. is recommended. If you do not have photo ID, you must supply a non-returnable recent photo + another form of ID. The test consists of HS level math and math related to the carpentry trades incl.: decimals, fractions & geometry. 2 hours to complete the test. Bring two sharp #2 pencils on test day. Calculators are not permitted. All qualified applicants will remain eligible for a 3-year period. Proof of HS equivalency is req’d. after you have passed the qualifying test. Drug testing is req’d. for entry and continued participation in the apprentice program.
